1. Free guided visit : Flavours and Traditions of Grasse

  1. Presentation: The Mediterranean garden – historical and culinary anecdotes about the Rosa centifolia, herbs such as savory, rosemary, melissa, wild thyme and sage – and local tales of absinthe!

  2. Presentation: The olive tree and its produce – olives, oils, olive pastes, tapenades plus free tasting of various olive oils.

  3. Flowers in gastronomy – handling and tasting crystallized flowers, flower syrups and flower jams, plus aperitif tasting (white wine and flower syrup).

  4. Visit to the shop with a variety of different honeys, aperitifs and Provençal liquors, wines, traditional confectioneries, jams and nougats, all produced locally in Provence.

2. Cookery : Cookery Workshops of olive tapenade, pistou or desserts with fruits and flowers

Duration: Approximately 1 hour

  1. Presentation: The olive tree and its gastronomical products – olives, oils, olive pastes, tapenades.

  2. Practical cookery workshop in which participants learn how to make black olive tapenade using local ingredients

  3. Presentation about manufacturing processes, origins of the produce, Provençal anecdotes and culinary ideas.

  4. Tapenade tasting.

  5. A free glass of rosé wine.

  1. Presentation: The basil plant and its history – different uses in gastronomy.

  2. Comparative tasting of three different extra virgin olive oils.

  3. Comparative tasting of two types of Provençal olives.

  4. Comparative tasting of three olive preparations.

  5. Comments on the use of this produce in cookery.

 

Flowers in Gastronomy : Illustrated Presentation with Tasting of Specialities made with Flowers

Duration: Approximately 1 hour
Optional extra: a jar of flower jam for each participant

  1. Presentation: Cooking with flowers – a tradition in Grasse – illustrated by presentation of flower syrups, flower jams and  crystallized flowers.

  2. Tasting of flower syrups, flower jams and flowers crystallized in sugar according to local traditions.

  3. Comments on the use of this produce in cookery.

  4. Free aperitif tasting (white wine and flower syrup).

6. Provençal Lunch

  2. Tasting of a complete and typical lunch including mixed toasts with black olive tapenade, dried tomatoes caviar and anchovy cream, pissaladière - onions pie with olives, pistou soup, etc. and, soft drinks and wines

  3. Comments on the use of this produce in cookery.

7. Petanque with Provençal Aperitif

At Espace Terroirs (our pictures) or other places
With a animator
Duration : Approximately between 1 to 2  hours according to the number of players

Knock your opponent out of play or use your skill as a “pointer”! It’s up to you to use your flair and finesse to score a maximum of points.  An initiation of pétanque will be organized before grouping into teams to play in a mini tournament. This offer includes a pétanque surface with all materials for the activity as well as a supervised workshop with 1 animator for 10 to 50 people.

During this activity a cocktail of “Pastis Bleu de Provence” will be offered for each participant.
